{"id":3411,"date":"2016-08-12T11:00:50","date_gmt":"2016-08-12T05:30:50","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/gtm360.com\/blog\/?p=3411"},"modified":"2021-12-06T15:33:10","modified_gmt":"2021-12-06T10:03:10","slug":"omnichannel-couponing-drives-cem-success-part-2","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/gtm360.com\/blog\/2016\/08\/12\/omnichannel-couponing-drives-cem-success-part-2\/","title":{"rendered":"Omnichannel Couponing Drives CEM Success &#8211; Part 2"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>In <a href=\"http:\/\/gtm360.com\/blog\/2016\/08\/05\/omnichannel-couponing-drives-cem-success-part-1\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\"><strong>Part-1<\/strong><\/a> of this blog post, I&#8217;d described my experience with PayTM&#8217;s CEM campaign on Nescafe&#8217;s instant coffee bottle.<\/p>\n<p>In this part, I&#8217;ll describe my experience with the sachet of the same product.<\/p>\n<p>If you&#8217;re wondering how packing types matter in a CEM campaign, trust me, bottle and sachet pose different challenges and provide different learnings!<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/gtm360.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2016\/07\/paytmnescafe16.jpg\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignright wp-image-3407 size-medium\" src=\"https:\/\/gtm360.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2016\/07\/paytmnescafe16-133x200.jpg\" alt=\"paytmnescafe16\" width=\"133\" height=\"200\" srcset=\"https:\/\/gtm360.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2016\/07\/paytmnescafe16-133x200.jpg 133w, https:\/\/gtm360.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2016\/07\/paytmnescafe16.jpg 197w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 133px) 100vw, 133px\" \/><\/a>Because the sachet offered large enough real estate, PayTM could insert detailed instructions on how to submit the code on the Nescafe microsite of its website.<\/p>\n<p>But I faced a different problem here: I just couldn&#8217;t find the code! Surprisingly, the otherwise detailed instructions didn&#8217;t mention where exactly the code was printed. I called Nestle&#8217;s Customer Care number given on the sachet and the rep who came on the line told me that the code was engraved below the fssai mark (which was clearly visible).<\/p>\n<p>Even before I asked, he clarified that they couldn&#8217;t resort to the conventional approach of printing the code on the inside surface of the sachet. While that&#8217;d have made the code clearly visible, the pigment inks used for printing wouldn&#8217;t go well with a food product like coffee. Instead, they had to use laser technology to engrave the code, which made it &#8216;food-grade&#8217; albeit almost invisible.<\/p>\n<p>Anyway, I squinted my eyes closely at the required spot and was able to find the code.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/gtm360.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2016\/07\/paytmnescafe-fi-2.jpg\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone wp-image-3405 size-full\" src=\"https:\/\/gtm360.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2016\/07\/paytmnescafe-fi-2.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"630\" height=\"280\" srcset=\"https:\/\/gtm360.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2016\/07\/paytmnescafe-fi-2.jpg 630w, https:\/\/gtm360.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2016\/07\/paytmnescafe-fi-2-200x89.jpg 200w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 630px) 100vw, 630px\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<blockquote><p><a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/GTM360\/status\/745549614678302720\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">INR 60 to enter code is fine. But @Paytm should give me INR 6000 for finding the code.<\/a><\/p><\/blockquote>\n<p>Submitting the code on PayTM&#8217;s website was a breeze, not only because I&#8217;d prior experience with the bottle but also due to the detailed instructions that PayTM was able to print on the sachet.<\/p>\n<p>As with the bottle, PayTM faced a challenge in the couponing process with the sachet. The solution it used in this case was to trigger a hop to the phone channel.<\/p>\n<p>By following the omnichannel approach to couponing, I&#8217;m sure PayTM has improved the success rate of its CEM campaigns. While I can think of a few areas of improvement &#8211; e.g. print the coupon on the <em>outside<\/em> surface of the sachet where the pigment inks won&#8217;t come in contact with the coffee granules &#8211; PayTM has done a great job under the circumstances.<\/p>\n<hr style=\"width: 70%;\" \/>\n<p>Brands using <em>omnichannel couponing<\/em> need an omnichannel <em>Customer Engagement Management<\/em> system to support their best practice. The CEM should also work over a wide variety of communication channels so that customers are able to find the channel that best suits them to submit the code to the brand.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/www.birdvisiontech.com\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Birdvision Consulting<\/a> provides one such best-in-class omnichannel CEM platform.
